Sine Calculator

Engineering Tools

Our sine vibration calculator will compute acceleration, velocity, displacement, or frequency. To perform a calculation, enter the values for any two variables; the calculator will automatically solve for the remaining parameters. Reset the calculator after each use to ensure accuracy. Select a unit from the drop-down menu to perform unit conversions.

Parameters & Definitions

  • Acceleration (Peak): The rate of change of velocity, typically measured in g or m/s^2. Acceleration is a primary metric for determining the force required for a test profile F=ma.
  • Velocity (Peak): The rate of change of displacement, measured in mm/s or in/s. Velocity is a key indicator of the energy intensity or severity of the vibration environment.
  • Displacement (Peak-to-Peak): Also referred to as Double Amplitude (DA), this represents the total distance traveled from the negative peak to the positive peak of the sine wave.
  • Frequency: Measured in Hz or CPM. Frequency defines the number of cycles completed per unit of time and dictates the mathematical relationship: \omega = 2\pi f A = \omega^2 D_{peak}
