Generate a Waveform from Specifications

Test specifications such as the IEEE-344 specify multiple types of fragility and resonance tests. With the User Defined Transient software module, create the waveforms recommended for these tests in a flash. Simply select the desired waveform type, enter the appropriate parameter values, and click Create Waveform.

Classical Shock Pulses

Classical shock pulses are the simplest method of generating a shock pulse. Classical pulses have a pre-defined shape as well as a pre-defined amplitude, direction, and duration. The library of basic pulse shapes derives from prior drop tests.

Drop tests were designed to generate a unipolar acceleration shape while also generating a set delta-velocity. The acceleration shapes have carried over into shaker testing to generate a similar change in velocity.

Fulfill Seismic Test Specifications

Structures and equipment installed in seismically active regions must be designed to protect the operating equipment in the event of an earthquake. With the VR9500/VR10500, the user can perform single/multi-axis earthquake testing that meets test standards using an earthquake test template or user-defined time transient.


User-Defined Option

With the user-defined pulse option, define a custom equation, the duration of the waveform, and up to five parameter values. Access the same syntax and functions in the Math Traces as well as several functions defined specifically for the user-defined feature. Then, apply any necessary filters to remove undesired frequencies.
