Controller
The Vibration Research controller is the VR8500.
- The VR8500 uses a high speed RISC processor, which is capable of quickly processing large amounts of data.
- Runs tests efficiently at both low and high sample rates, and with up to 13,000 lines of resolution for random testing.
- Does NOT require any board in the PC. All the critical calculations are done directly in the hardware box, with the results communicated via Ethernet connection to the PC.
- The PC is only used for user interface and data storage so the PC requirements are quite low.
- From 1 to 32 input channels
- Up to 4 simultaneous control loops
- Ethernet connection:
- Eliminates the grounding issues created by a USB connection or PCI cards.
- Ethernet is great for getting rid of 50/60 Hz noise problems.
- TEDS Interface - the software reads the calibration information right off of the accelerometers (if available).
- 120 dB of Dynamic Range
Software
The VibrationVIEW 7 software is used to set up and monitor tests and to perform reporting.
- Runs on all versions of Microsoft Windows including Vista.
- Easy test set up and monitoring
- Automaticly create reports
- Fully customizable report templates in the following formats
- Document (.rtf) View a sample Sine report and a Random report.
- Spreadsheet (.csv)
- HTML
- Text
- Remote monitoring and control via the web and email
- Use remote inputs and outputs to control and/or monitor other devices such as amplifiers and blowers.
- Download the VR8500 Highlights Brochure
Sine
The Sine package allows you to run swept and/or fixed-frequency sine wave vibration tests, with control of acceleration, velocity, and displacement.
- Search for resonances and create tables of the resonances.
- Track and dwell based on phase to hold at the resonance frequency even as the frequency shifts.
- Sine Big Display helps you to easily see and manually control your test.
Random
The Random package allows you to run controlled spectrum random tests.
- Analyze to 20,000 Hz or use up to 13,000 lines of resolution
- Drag and drop your breakpoints from Microsoft Excel right into VibrationVIEW
- You can have over 1000 breakpoints in a test.
- Optional non-gaussion waveforms with Kurtosion
- Run mixed-mode tests with sine tones superimposed on a random background with Sine on Random
- Run controlled spectrum random tests with swept random "tones" superimposed on a random background with Random on Random
Kurtosion
The Kurtosion capability allows you to put the peak G's back into your test that are taken out with a normal Gaussian random test. This allows you to make sure that your tests are appropriate for the environment required.
- Tests are more "real world" with Kurtosion
- Get the 7-Sigma peaks that occur in the field back into your test
- Patented algorithms can even get kurtosis into the resonances
Shock
The Shock package performs closed loop control of transient waveforms.
- Controls all Classical Shock waveforms
- User-Defined Transient control for arbitrary waveforms from 1 ms to 60 seconds or more
- SRS control to run a shock pulse defined by a frequency vs. G peak table.
- Perform earthquake testing with special features for IEEE 344 requirements
Field Data Replication
The Field Data Replication package allows you to replicate data recorded in the field on the shaker in your lab.
- Automatic compensation for shaker and fixture response.
- All of the test data can be stored to the hard drive of the PC for later retrieval
- Data storage can be done manually or automatically.
Transient Capture
The Transient Capture package provides a simple interface to record transient events.
- Select a trigger level, slope, channel, and duration.
- Easily set up and record your Drop Shock tests.
- Interface with ME' scope for post analysis.
