Q. How do I set a default graph layout?
A. Simply set up the graphs and go to "Graph..Save Graph Layout" menu. Name the graph layout "default" in the "Save Graph Layout" dialog box.
Q. How do I make changes to the information I want displayed in a "Quick Report" a second time?
A. If you select "Quick Report" from the "File" menu, the "Create Quick Report" from the right-click pop-up menu on the "Report" Toolbar Button, or use the Ctrl+R keyboard shortcut, then you will get the configuration window prior to creating a report.
Q. Are my report templates from version 4 compatible with version 5?
A. Yes, see the next question for directory locations
Q. What are the directory structure differences in VibrationVIEW 4 vs. VibrationVIEW 5?
A. Version 4 default directories included:
C:\Program Files\VibrationVIEW4\Templates
C:\Program Files\VibrationVIEW4\Profiles
Version 5 default directories include:
C:\VibrationVIEW\Templates
C:\VibrationVIEW\Profiles

Q. How do I define a new test while I have a test running?
A. To define a new test while another test is running, you can click the "New Test" button. Also, at the bottom of the screen you will have a row of "test tabs" ("Test Tabs" can be enabled and disabled through the "View Test Tabs" menu option) with each currently loaded test profile. Right-click on one of these tabs and select "Edit Test Profile" to edit another test while the current test is running.
Q. How does the right-click option work when trying to edit a graph?
A. The right-click in the graph window has a configurable delay when clicking in the graph itself, because if you click-and-drag in the graph window it will zoom in. If you click-and-hold for 1 second, it brings up the menu. The delay is configured in the Configuration GraphDefaults window.
Q. How can I get the data at bottom in a graph window like in version 4?
A. The previous "data at bottom" is still available, but it is implemented a little differently because it is now treated as another type of graph. As a result you can do many more things with it, including having graph windows with only text, and customizing the text layout and information displayed. On some plots you can get this "data at bottom" window by clicking and dragging on the lower blue border of the graph window, and dragging it upwards. If that gives you another plot (for example, in Sine acceleration graphs, this will give a linked velocity graph), then right-click in that lower sub-graph window, and select "GraphType .. Text Window" from the popup menu to change the lower subgraph to a text window. Alternately, you can click on the "Edit Graph" toolbar button, then click the "Insert Graph" button, and then select "Text Window" as the graph type to create a text window attached to the current graph.
Q. Why isn't the cola output working in Version 5 when it works fine in version 4?
A. The cola output has been turned off by default in Version 5. To enable Cola output, go to "Configuration…Parameters". Then use the pull down menu labeled "COLA/Aux" and set it to "COLA". |
